This course is an introduction of how people interact with each other within society. We will look at some of the more pressing social issues of our time and analyze why things are the way they are. We will examine such issues as social stratification, discrimination, crime, and many others. We will apply scientific method to reach our own conclusions about the society within which we live.
Economics
In this course students will examine both the concepts of economics and how they apply to our lives in America. Economic concepts will fall into four categories: introduction, macro economics, micro economics and international trade. We will relate some of our concepts to appropriate governmental structures when applicable This course includes consumer education topics required by state law.
American Law
In this course students will examine the concepts of the American Legal System. Concepts will include individual rights, criminal justice process, criminal & juvenile law, tort law, and an introduction to the legal system.
